ok, anyone know of any true 3" cat-back exhuasts? I already have a 3" O2 eliminator DP and 3" test pipe. I was going to go with the N1 but I hear that it necks down to about 2.5" inside the muffler, so I'm having second thoughts about the N1

Most of the non-japanese exhausts are not 3inch all the way back.

The Thermal, ATR,RnR,Buschur and most others made here are.

the n1 is 3" and it EXPANDS to 3.3" by the time it gets to the canister.

The muffler is only 2.5" inside, it's been debated before. Plus it has atleast one (maybe two, cant remember) resonators in it.

The extreme motorsports exhaust is also full 3", it's what I have on my car.

exactly the n1's greddy's hks are all junk and sound like ass on a dsm

the thermal, buschur, atr and exterme which is also made by atr i think. are you're best choices. i keep hearing about this RNR racing thing but i have never seen one. dsm performance has a very nice 3" stainless turbo back system on sale this month take a look www.extremeturbo.com very cool website to:cool:

Has anyone here purchased this exhaust? How is the Sound, quality and fit? Extreme is offering a pretty decent deal for a exhaust, intake pipe, and fuel pump.

thank

yes I also think extreme's is made by ATR. I just chose not to go with the ATR because I don't like the u bolt clamps they use.

Then weld it. I have the clamps and they are fine.

It may have a clamp but it is the straighest, loudest 3inch for an AWD.

The extreme runs the same route as your ATR. And I don't think "loudest" means "best." That's meatball thinking.

EDIT: I just looked at ATR's website. They're 1g system SUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS. It's got so many damn bends in it it's unbelievable.

My extreme one (1g) looks identical to your 2g system:

He's talking about a 2g fwd.

This has been talked about before.

Tanabe makes a nice one, but its expensive, and mates to a stock setup, so it has about an 8" section of like 2" pipe. Easily fixed.

Go side exit.

does anyone have the tanabe super racing medallion and know if its a true 3" system or does anyone know the webpage for tanabe where I can get specs on it?

What happens to the O2 sensor that is mounted behind the cat? Do the turbo back exhaust systems mentioned above, have a place to mount this sensor? If not, what are you suppose to do with this sensor?

thanks

I was going to go with the Apexi GT exhaust system... (the step UP from the N1) does anyone know about it? I was under the impression that the N1 was fairly decent... but if you all believe to the contrary... what are your feelings on the Apexi GT system?

Why spend $500+ on an apexi that ISNT stainless? That's such a damn ripoff when you can buy fully stainless systems for that price. The GT exhaust isn't even made for DSMs, and its got a whopping $780 price tag for a cat back. SCREW THAT.

Actually the Gt spec is made for both fwd and awd eclipses and is all stainless.

Horsepower Freaks has the GT Spec for $584 dollars. Still an expensive catback though. I'de like to hear from someone who has it.

This is NOT how my car looks now. I bought the car with the stupid pep boys tint on it. It's gone now. I have better pics of the piping route if you want as well.
