OK, I am puting my motor back together and put the head on today. Tomorrow I am going to reinstall the timing belt. I would just like to get some advice on getting the right timing. I have installed my timing belt before but nothing moved because thats all I was doing. I did remove the balance shafts. The cams have not moved since I removed the timing bekt(I used a pair of vice grips to hold them). I was reading that if the oil pump is 180 out then there will be a rough idle. Is there a way to check this before puting the motor back into the car? Also cylender 1 (timing side) is suposed to be tdc right?
Thanks for any and all tips and advice,
JB
