I got a 91 mitsu GS. Its got 50k miles. Next year its mine but untill then i can mod it out or do whatever with it while it sits in the garage. What are the best mods to do first? im thinking i want to pull around the 275-300 horsepower range, which i understand isnt very hard. What mods are best to do first? and also, say i want to buy something, like an intake or something, do i mail order? order off the internet? go to a retailer?.

Is the car a gs, gst or gsx? If its a gs then 250-300 hp is going to be difficult. Your profile says gsx but your post says gs.
 
This should be in the general/newbie forum.

You should follow the tuning guide from the home page or tool bar from up top. It will help you figure out the best way to reach your goals for your car whether it be a rs, gs, gst or gsx.

As for performance parts... that all depends on you. I personally would look at a reputable shop around your area or use a vendor from this website. I don't like to chance my money on possible scammers on ebay or wherever (I know not everyone is a scammer on ebay or dsmtrader, but I would spend the extra money and make sure I get the part).

when i signed up for dsmtuners, there was no option for just "gs". The car is a gs turbo, why would 275 horsepower be diffacult?
 
Dood maybe hes saying that the GS was upgraded to a turbo thus the GS turbo. If it didnt come off the line AS a GST then it will never BE a gst it will only be a turbo upgraded GS.

Call it what you will but if he says its a GS turbo then its prolly been modded to make it that way.
 
Actually I'm almost 100% sure they made many GS turbos that were not called GS-T or GS-X. They were the fwd turbo's and they were only the 90's that were called a GS turbo. And as far as I know it is the 4g63t motor with stock 14b etc etc. Basically a GS-T without the T lettering.

Yeap. All 1g eclipse *gst's* came with a GS on the back with a "turbo" below.

As far as a 300hp range is concerned, just get a 3'' turbo back exhaust, exhaust manifold, afc, fuel pump, intake, boost controller/gauge and you're set. Also, use the "tuning guide" at the top of the page for a referance.
