Slowboy Racing's New Cast Manifold!!!!

I recently purchased a new SBR cast manifold. They say the cast is based off of a very ported Evo III manifold and the flange is slightly thicker. Also as you can see, there is a 7cm outlet for those bigger turbos. I had them port it to clean up the casting marks, but it wasn't enough.... I ported it a bit more to match my head Here are the pics.

Oh so sweet! What turbo is that? It looks like one of the PTEs. I'm sure it'll be a kick ass setup. Good luck with it.

You don't want to just port the exhaust ports on the head and the inlets on the manifold.

NICE!!!
I am also intersted in those new manifolds. I wonder what manifold has the most nickel content to prevent cracks from forming?(EVO or the SBR?)

Yes, I know you advised me on that before. It slows down the velocity of the exhaust... Small to Big to Small again. Since I have the oversized valves in the head, I actually opened up the entire ports, not just the outlets.

GT3255 should be pretty nice up top, I might have to buy those HKS 272s, but I will try her out with the stock ones first. It is a street car. Need that MPG on the highway, and a nice idle.

It would be nice if they cast one with a garrett flange.

Yes, but for the $ it would cost, just buy the Turbonetics one, or I think HKS has one also possibly but don't quote me on that one. For sure you can get the Turbonetics cast manifold, my buddy has one on his GVR4 and it is a pretty nice piece, setup for a bolt on external gate too.

Whether or not I agree with you on this is still up in the air, but at least you put some thought into it.

I know what you are saying, I guess we'll just have to see how it runs next week. Then I will know if it is done right or wrong.... Either way, it was my first time porting a head, etc. so I do not feel I did too bad of a job.

It is allready on the car, Trust me though, that 2G mani I'm hooking you up with has PLENTY big ports. Besides for $70 you can't go wrong right.

I had to barely grind the far right corner of the flange down for my 1G, just barely. It fits perfectly with my turbo. I will post a pic shortly of it on the car with the turbo and downpipe bolted up. Probably tomorrow night. Oh, and I DID NOT have to dent my water pipe.

It's cast with the collector ported out, so you don't have to pay anyone to port it, it's cheaper in the end. I'm going to have to call up the floppy heads up north that make those and get a couple

I assume you are talking about the entire manifold?? The point of getting this is it is allready as big as a ported EVO III manifold, which means you do not need to have it ported as stated above, but you also don't have to worry about it cracking at all because you still have the thicker walls that aren't ported. It is a very nice piece for the big turbo guys because it will support the weight better and you do not have to "dent" the water pipe.
