Has anyone used these? I'm probibly going to put them in the VR4s built motor, eagle rods and ross pistons. I've seen a couple bad wear issues on Clevites, so I decided to go this route. I read awhile back that a guy was running them in his built motor and they were fine, I just can't find the thread anymore. Anyone with info, it would be appreacited.

What kind of bad wear issues did you see with clevites?

In my opinion, all the major bearing manufacturers produce good bearings(clevite, federal mogul, whoever mitsu uses for oem bearings), and any problems that arise are usually the fault of the builder and not the bearing.

Very true.

i ran federal mogul in one motor i built and it only lasted 1500 miles. i seriously think it had to do with it being my first rebuild and not doing things carefully, but this time around i got a deal and went with clevite 77 rings and main and rod bearings. i couldn't argue with the discounted price of $150 for all of that. the thing only has about 100 miles on it right now, but its purring like a kitten so far.

Does Clevite make bearings anymore? I heard that they were bought by Federal Mogul about 6 months ago.. Rumor?
True. I am not sure if they are going to keep the name and sell bearings under clevite or not. I bought a set when I heard this was going to happen. I'd be weary of FM. Clevite, as long as FM has not corrupted them, is the best.

I can tell you from experience that Champion has had more problems with their industrial spark plugs since being owned by FM and building that nice Mexican plant.
