I am getting a 95 GST with 160k miles on it, so I am looking at an engine build very soon. I have read some of the posts on this site about balance shaft removal, but I have not found anything posted about results of removing the balance shafts.

My questions are:
a)Has anyone who has removed their balance shafts noticed any significant gains from doing so?
b)Are the vibrations much much worse to the point where you would rather be slower and not get shaken baby syndrome from driving around in your balance shaft free car?
c)Is there anything else anyone would suggest about this issue?

Thanks, any input is apreciated.

Mine are removed, but my rotating assembly is completely balanced. I get no vibration in the car whatsoever. The advantages... faster freer revving, fewer things that can break and go wrong, weight reduction (10lbs almost), and a few extra horsepower.

You may not notice the extra power, but it will rasie your oil pressure, and their will be n o chace of the b shaft belt snaping or sliping and wipeing out the head, which happens somewhat often.

The vibrations are not even noticible, and doing your timing belt will be faster and easier.

Ok, thats what I figured, but I wanted to hear it from somebody who has seen it. Thanks for the help :thumb:
