Ok now i know the "Recipe for 12's" in a turbo DSM has been discussed thousands of times, so dont flame me for this post :p

I ####ing hate people who think they know everything! Especially ####ing retards who have tuned 14 second Hondas his whole car life and think they are Gods gift to the auto industry!

I recently bought all the parts for my car (1991 Galant VR4) for a hopefull 12, maybe 11's, factory shortblock setup. The list of mods that will be installed on my car as of next week are as follows:

The brand new Slowboy Cast exhaust Manifold
2.5 inch o2 housing
2.5 inch Custom downpipe
no catalytic
3inch downpipe back custom exhuast
Manual Boost Controller (15 low boost,18-20 high)
Walbro 255HP Fuel Pump
NGK BPR7ES's
NGK BLUES (8mm spark plug wires)

2nd Gen Mas (not installed)

ACT Streetlite Flywheel (not installed)

Other goodies on the car include:

Autometer Boost and Air Fuel
Greddy EGT Guage and Probe
Digital Technologies Datalogger w/ M500 palm Pilot
HKS type 2 Turbo Timer (wont freakin work for the life of me)
Nitto 455 Street Radials

Ok now this was his response to my mod list and proposal for running 12's:

"I honestly don't see how you are aiming for 11's/12's with that setup Brian"

Scenario: My friend brent with '98 GSX has the local "Fast" dsm right now with a current time of 12.4 @ 110

His mods are:

Slowboy Racing Ported 2g 20g/T3 Turbo
K&N Intake
Injen Intake Hard Pipe
Greddy Type S BOV
Custom Race Core Intercooler
2 1/2 inch intercooler hardpipe
GM Mas Air Flow Meter with MAF Translator
Ported EVO 3 o2 housing
3 inch downpipe
3 inch Test Pipe
3 Inch bushur Racing cat back exhaust
Greddy Profec B Boost Controller set @20psi
Walbro 255HP Fuel Pump
NGK BPR7ES's
Taylor 8mm Spark Plug Wires
MSD 6A Ignition
DSM Link
RC 550cc Injectors
Pacesetter Tubular Exhuast Manifold
Magnus Motorsports Intake Manifold
6AN Fuel System with Aeromotive Fuel Regulator
ACT 2600 Clutch
ACT Streetlite Flywheel

Other shit:
Greddy EGT Guage
Autometer Boost
Goodyear Eagle RSA's

Anyways... My reply to him was:

"" Are you ####ing kidding me? 11's i said will be stretch on that setup only getting those kind of results with some serious tuning, race gas, and 20+psi, but 12's are almost guarenteed. Thats everything brent has minus the intake and ignition. Oh you must be thinking that his turbo's so much bigger than mine, lets see both flow 550cfm at 15psi, his t3 exhaust wheel will flow 5% more air at boost above 15. What you think you need a 800hp race core of an intercooler to get 12's? Not quite, he'll just go sub 12's easier than me.

Anyways taking this into consideration, add the COMP CAMS, and exhuast manifold that puts a Ported evo3 or pacesetter to shame, the 1st gen head flow, and the ability for my boost to be turned over 20psi into the equation and i think I have WAY more than enough to get me out of the 13's. Im not one to bench race, never have been, but go do your research, people have hit 12's in DSM's on WAAAAAAY less. Brent even thinks i will be right there with him.

So what am I missing Mr. DSM that you thinks gonna keep me from 12's? ""

SO... What do you guys think? 12's capable? (Damn i hate bench racing, dont even know why i made this post)

Actually, it is frowned on here, but before I lock it, I do think that setup could be in the 12s...

...but it could also run a 14+. Install the parts, tune it, and share the results.
