Ok I ordered a new header and i'm wondering before hand how hard it is to remove the stock exhaust manifold. Theres some bolts that look really tricky, any tips would be great.
Also I'm looking a o2 housings and in the parts catalog i can't seem to find a link that works on it, i was lookin at one that was like 180. Dont want to spend to much cause of everything else i just ordered.

When i switched from my 1g to my 2g manifold i just pulled of my power steering pump it made it a lot easier to get to the bottom bolt on the drivers side. Its like 3 bolts holding it on i think. For me that was the only bolt difficult to get to.

Thanks PhatTSi, but looking at the nuts it seems hard to get a socket in there and have leverage to loosin it. Also should i soak it in liquid wrench a night before i do it? It just seems like everytime I put something new on my car theres always something to give me a problem, and I can't be out of a car anymore. Just want to make it as easy as possible.

Also is it worth it to get new Manifold studs, and how hard are they to put in?

When i did mine i put some liquid wrench on the the 2 nights previously to the day i removed the manifold. You could get new studs if you want but its not necessary and they are easy to install, all you have to do is thread 2 nuts onto the stud and just tighten them. As far as getting a wrench on them its really not that difficult with the liquid wrench the nuts should come loose fairly easily.

You don't even want to think about reusing the old ones. Whatever studs that aren't broken now will likely break torquing the new manifold.

Soak them with PB Blaster, get yourself a universal joint for the ratchet and pick up two regular nuts that fit the studs. After you get your maniflod off use the two nuts locked against each other to remove the stud from the head.

Study the VFAQ before starting and make sure you understand it.
