I just wanted to ask people who are running 6 bolts in their 2g's a couple of questions. Are you happy with the swap? Do you have any persistant problems? Does the car run smoothly? Is it a pain in the ass to change the timing belt now? Was it worth it?

I am asking because I am seriously considering kicking down for a professionally built and installed (RRE) 6 bolt with upgraded rods and pistons, a ported 2g head, and I am going to switch to Dsmlink. Anybody running a similar set up?

I almost turned to the darkside and bought an Evo. But, my car performs as well as an evo now and I just think the evo can't outrun the ugly. Plus, here in Cali, the dealers want your left nut for the evo.

Anyway, I am looking to put around $10,000 (God I hope not) into the new set up to make sure it gets done right. Anyone have any advice/ experiences with the 1g in a 2g? I am very limted in space, tools, and mechanical ability. Even if I get it professionally done, is the swap going to take any extra maintence than a regular motor? I guess I am hoping that it is not any different maintence wise than my 7 bolt.
Thanks.

everything is pretty straight forward....ive had my 6bolt in my car for a while now and havent had any major problems yet *knock on wood*. I did everything myself but i didnt bother to do a piston/rod combo because at the time I installed it I was really short on cash. You should be pretty happy with it if your planning on building it and all that fun stuff....but damn $10,000 just seems like alot of money to me, you could save some costs by doing a few things yourself. LOL and maintence?? for god sakes man its a dsm its gonna take alot of it!!! :dsm:
