My 95 talon crank walked, I found a 6bolt with no turbo just wondering if my stock 2g turbo will bolt on to the 1g manifold???

Alo how hard is it to swap an evo 3-4-5 in a 2g? Has anyone in here done it?
if so I just need to know if it is gonna bolt up to the tranny, will it line up with my 7bolt motor mounts? I know it is also a 4g63 but i dont know nothing about the 6bolts or evo's

thank you

from what I understand you can only do Evo I II and III, the reason being is that after those years the engine is reversed.. and it is a 7 bolt motor which would be same.

thanks alot Im still trying to figure out if it will bolt up and all thanks tho

no he dident answer my question and i dident ask you he said the evo 1-3 would fit i asked if it would bolt up to my tranny

jerk

looking at your own words...you should tone it down a little bit when asking the help of others son. yes the turbo will bolt up to the 1g manifold but it has always had a problem of cracking so you're better off sticking to the 2g manifold. you will have to get a 2g turbo install kit of some sort to hook the turbo up to your SMIC. the likelyhood of you finding an evo 1-3 engine in decent shape isn't that great, at least in the rockies. if you're going to drop the $1,500.00 on a used engine and another $1,500.00 on the conversion parts for a 1g in a 2g swap, i'd recommend you save up another grand or three and get a built up engine instead.

that's my 10 cents...my 2 cents are free

Ya, I think it takes some finesse to get even a Evo3 motor in a 2G. So, the 1G in a 2G has a more proven track record. I'd just spend all the mony on a built 1G, and swap it in. Going "JDM" may be worth a lot of style points, but it just isn't really worth it.

An evo 1-3 engine goes fine into a 2g, it won't go into a 1g, but its a much shittier engine then a 1g motor.

the evo 1-3 motor is a 1g tel motor.

Not even close. It's a 2g engine dead on with a nice TB and turbo. NO EVO engine can bolt into a 1g. They have no where to bolt the front roll stopper mount.

But for some reason they don't have the reputation of walking. I do not understand why our motors (built in Japan like Evo motors) would be any less stout. Something inside must be different.

I've certainly heard rumors of them walking, but couldn't verify.

evo ENGINES (motors are electric) are not the same as 1g tel engines ... evo engines won't even bolt up in 1gs because the mounts are different. not to mention the evo engines have stronger internals the 1g engines

yes they do walk ... we just don't hear about it as much (there is a big ole ocean between us and them)
