20G making 400AWHP?

All:

A friend of mine states that he made 403WHP on the dyno (AWD) with his 1G with a 20G on race gas at 22psi. I don't believe him because he can't produce a slip. What is the likelyhood of this being even remotely possible?

It's possible to make 400hp with the 20g, but i doubt only 22psi...

BTW...td05 or td06???...it makes a difference
 
its not that out of the realm.....I've seen 16g's make some decent numbers and a 20G is a decent sized turbo
 
Not sure of the housing, but let's assume the TD06H. Can it be done at 22psi?

How likely is it with just a SAFC? I mean if he had a stand-alone, then I might believe it. But to all 4 wheels?

i've seen 420 on a stock bottom end and head, hks cams, 20g, and a 50 shot of nitrous. after he upgraded to a stage 3 head from taboospeedshop.com he said it felt stronger not spraying that it did before when he did spray. its most definitely possible. hell phil just put down 300awhp on a 14b, i'm sure the 20g is capable of an extra 100hp with supporting mods.

Too many theories and not enough facts. Show something. Otherwise, it hasn't been done.

Btw, keep in mind this is on a awd system, not a fwd. Drivetrain loss will be greater.

I have personally seen a 1st Gen AWD with an internally gated 20G and all supporting mods run 11.40s @ almost 122mph. I also know the owner of Xotic Motorsports, Josh, Dynoed 403whp on a tdo5 20G at low 20s psi. It can be done.

Now, if your friend doesnt have a slip, well, I would call BS. Simply because that would be impressive nonetheless. Not a dyno slip one would misplace. ;)
 
Dude, do you know anything about that turbo? Do you know what supporting mods he has? It makes a big difference. With cams and intake manifold there wouldnt be much stopping em. Mike from slowboy put down 360 whp on pump gas, no nitrous,stock head and intake manifold. So, there was this one guy with a hahn 20g in town here that put down 340 around 16 psi with no supporting mods except for injectors, pump and upgraded sidemount. It has been done right here in town, I cant remember on what terms though. No dyno slip, no dyno usually.

to put it quickly, yes. But what compression is he running? With all stockers and hybrids available, what si the dispacement of the motor? Supporting mods? if he is running something high like 9:0 compression,cams, good port work, ect, then he might be able to make that kind of power at under 20psi.

what car are you talking about???? :confused:
 
I dont remember, i think it was a 2g with a 6 bolt, matt told me about that car about a year ago.
