Spark Plugs?

hey guys. it's been getting significantly colder around here in the past week. this chilly morning i went to start the engine and when it did, it seemed like it was running on 3 or even 2 cylinders but just for like 4-5 seconds and then it all smoothed out. i'm thinking it could be the spark plugs? the car is relatively new with only 52k kms and not driven hard, always used 94 octane gas. any ideas? how long do spark plugs live on average? (i think mine have never been taken out or cleanned yet)

spark plugs cant last different periods of time depending on how abused the car is and how well the car is tuned. I suggest just taking them out and checking them. If there the stock plugs then replace them with some NGK BP7ES and thatll be good..

I would think that with his level of mods (i.e., not many) he would still need the stock heat range -- BPR6ES.

Thanks guys. Are you sure I should be going with BPR6ES? I will be turning the boost up to 15 PSI pretty soon.

Anything above 16psi and you should step to the 7's

everyone i ask says use NGK is there any reason to this and they also say never use platinum. I found that out after i put them.

The reason is becasue they work the best. No other plug works as good in a DSM.

just replaced my old spark plugs with a set of BPR6ES. old plugs were NGK BPR6EKN. they have 2 elements. are those are the stock plugs dsms came with? the gaps were all messed up too, from 0.035 to 0.04 on some but some were just right at 0.03. engine now works much smoother so im happy .

I am running stock prettty much, just a K&N. I am running the BPR7ES, and I noticed my knock dropped by half, and my car runs awesome.

So at anything above 16psi I would benefit from a colder plug.
