How much over lap do these have when installed? I'm planning a daily driven/ weekend strip car. Would these be alright on the idle? Wait, screw the idle, i've been driving around with idle surge for over a month, why would i worry about it now? Anywayz, overlap on these cams? Anyone? I know most ppl have these as a preferance when you do cams... i was just wondering why.

That's 264/272.

I have them and love them. I have no idea on the overlap. But they idle good, have super top-end power, and you don't have to worry abou needing to degree them.

So i wouldn't need to worry about buying adjustable cam gears? How is your low-end torque since you installed them?

Low-end is fine. I didn't really see and loss of low-end. Just a butt-load more up top.

So what advantage if any is that over just 264/264, i have heard people doin this but i can never get a real clear answer.:dsm:

HKS 264 intake/264 exhaust
Little to no improvement, not worth the 500 dollars. Just raise your boost a little.. works better and cheaper.
Idles just like stock.. can hardly tell anything is in the car.. similar to missing honeycombs

HKS 264 intake/272 exhaust
Great top end, not bad down low. Highly recommended.
Idles a little lumpy, dies once and a while. I love that rumble. :)

HKS 272 intake/ 272 exhaust
Get in, shut up and hold on. Top end is awesome
Idles like you have half an ic piping removed if you run with stock ecu.. be prepared for lots of idle and vacumn problems

HKS 272/264? I really dont know how they would work.. some people have run them with big numbers.. really works against the principles of turbo cars.. we need more exhaust not intake. I dont know anyone with enough money to just blow on some not proven cams. Since we are on the subject of cams..

Nice cams, they are some of the cheapest. They do work well but to this day the lobe wear scandal is hurting their business.. ive seen some with 50k miles on them.. look like new.. Ive also seen some that wore to nothing flat in 5k miles. shrug
Idles all over the place.. Sounds great.. not too much in the way of idle problems.

Web 452/228
Bad time starting the car.. especially when cold. If you have stock ecu or VPC Id stay away.. Vacumn problems out the ass. car refuses to idle.
car to idle. Idles like a machine gun.. Id go haltech or similar if you want these big cams

Web 453/228
SICK SICK cams.. work great.............. when yer WOT.
Idle? hahah whats that? Keep a battery charger handy when you're trying to crank the motor over in the morning. At 5k though watch out.

I dont know much about the Crowers other than the duration and specs dont look like its cost efficient. I dont recommend them to my customers as the cost is far too high for any kind of results.
