If the compressor blades are all the same height, it's a 14b.

If they alternate between tall and short, it is a 16g.

You must likely have a Mitsubishi 14B turbo. This is what comes stock on all 4G63 engines years 89-94. You might have a 16G (which is an upgrade from the smaller 14b) if the person who owned the car before you changed the turbo. Listen to what was said above and check the compressor fins for their design. This is what the fan blades look like on a 16G:

If yours do not have an alternating blade design as shown, then you most likely have a stock 14B. To examine the fins on your turbo you must first take off the rubber intake tube the connects your air filter to your turbo inlet. Make sure your engine is OFF when you do this.

There is no turbo on my car, I have a 1998 gs. I would actually like to get a compressor map for all of the turbos in the tdo5 series, if I can't get all of them then at least the one for the 16g. I am going to turbo my car and I need some compressor maps to decide what turbo to go with. I have been able to find compressor maps for almost everything except the mitsubishi turbos.

There are a whole lot of TDO5H compressor wheels; however, I think yuo can find all or at least most of them at the link that yo2001 just posted.

The TDO5H is a Mitsubishi turbo, not a Garrett. Garrett compressor maps are wicked easy to find.

Yeah I am... OMG

I was entranced in the amount of techno-babble used in both your technical articals on Engine strength and Kevin J's on turbo efficiancy.

So.....what IS the maximum Compressor Efficiancy of the 14b? :D
