proper exhaust

whats a good setup ( size, map, brand, sort etc) for exhaust on a 4g63t big evo III 16 G turbo, i thought 2.5 was fine - but someone i know told me that since turbos run off the exhaust, its important for the best flow possible? he said 3 inch straight piped after market turbo manifold, no cat, a muffler with a 3 inch inlet and 3-4 inch outlet. Help plzzz?? , he didnt sound too sure with his words.
