Turbo Rebuild

Ok. I just hit 98000 miles in my Talon. I figure if the turbo hasn't gone yet it is bound to go sometime soon. My goals for my car is a 12 sec daily driver. I figure i can hit this with the 14b, and mad tuning. My question is what about should i pay for a turbo rebuild? I live in North Carolina and as much as i would love to send it off i can't really go without my car for more than a few days. So i am going to try to get it done locally.

p.s. I am burning oil and getting it checked out tommorow.

Why not just buy a used 16g for the same price with no downtime and a better turbo, or rebuild it yourself. I would be the burning oil is coming from the turbo seals or the valve seals.

You'll need some "mad" driving in addition to that "mad" tuning to get consistent 12's out of the 14b.

My suggestion: buy a 16G compressor/center cartridge w/o the turbine housing. Port your turbine housing off the 14B and bolt it to the 16G.
