what headgasket do you guys use.

-OEM Mitsu composite
-Cometic Metal HG
-Mitsu 4 layer metal HG
-Copper headgasket

Mitsu 4 layer is what Road Race recommended to me along with ARP head studs. I would recommend that to you even though I've heard good things about the Cometic HG. Supposedly same thing as the HKS w/o the HKS price.

well i had the mitsu 4 layer and it pushed oil and coolant, i know ppl running 25 psi with a 60-1 on the OEM composite and ARP head studs. i just wanted everyones opinion on the matter. keep em comin!

I have a cometic headgasket and I like it. It gives me no problems. I used ARP's when I installed it. My first impression of it was how well made and heavy duty it looked. So I would suggest the cometic although i think it is almost a toss up because people have had good success with all of the head gaskets on your lists :thumb: ...although the hear say about copper headgaskets is that there no good (but I have no personal experience with them).

did u have your head and block decked?

I didnt get either decked. I made sure that the block was straight by laying a ruler from corner to corner and using a feeler. I did the same with the head surface. I made sure that the head and the block surfaces were very very clean. You can do this by buying some gasket remover and straight edge razors. Then I would use some brake clean to prep the surfaces. And use ARPs. If your surfaces arent straight then it is going to be a whole different situation.

I'm using the Cometic with no problems at all. A guy at the local speed shop with a turbocharged Honda tried four different head gaskets including HKS and they all leaked. A year ago he put a Cometic on and still no problems and it cost less than the HKS.

what are the benifits to getting a copper headgasket?
and what are the drawbacks?
