I've received some emails requesting pic.s of the necked down section of the 3in. Apexi N1 (necked down to aprox. 2.5) 1st pic. is of the entire catback system for the 97 GSX. Sorry the pic.s are large.

necked down portion. Look at the inside pipe and start to follow it into the can. If you look carfully, you can see where it necks down. Look hard and you will see it. If I only had photoshop I could put some arrows.

Last but not least. Here it is, on the car. I have a few others but I believe these will give you a good idea. It may neck down but the quality and sound is top noch. I love this exaust.

ok i've never measured mine but i was always under the impression that those bulges are RESONATORS -- that its not piping that necks down, rather the piping looks like it gets bigger.. the 'small looking' portions between the resonator bulges are the ~3" piping. it should be fairly close to 3" all the way through from all that I have read numerous times on boards. i guess someone needs to start cutting these things in half to check them out.

There is no doubt that the piping and resonators are aprox. 3in.s +. The problem isn't in the piping, it's in the exhaust can itself. Right before it exits to the huge tip, it's necked. Maybe necked down isn't the proper word. Here is a drawing that I made to help. This is a cut away drawing. I am by no means an artist...hahahahaha no critics please
