My goal is to get into the 12's and I think an Evo III should do just that. Here are my current mods:
K&N FIPK, Greddy Type-S BOV, Greddy upper and lower IC piping, Greddy FMIC, Joe P. MBC, and a boost gauge.
Here is what I want to save up for

Evo III Turbo
3 inch turboback
Act 2600
Walbro 255
Aeromotive FPR
660cc injectors
DSM Link

Does that sound like a good goal to aim for? Or should I add or take anything from that list?

Thanks for your input.............

I would try without the FPR first. Sometimes people don't need to use anyhting other than a stock FPR, atleast so I've seen. Curious how it goes for you. I have a similar setup, though I would like a FMIC. I just ordered a EVO III 16g, supra sidemount, dejon tool LICP, 3" SBR intake, I have a 3" straight pipe to a borla XR-1, a joe p manual boost controller, a boost gauge, a ported 2g manifold, a ported TB, and a rewired fuel pump, I think to see real boost I'm going to need more fuel mods, but I think I'm getting a data logger first, as you should get your dsm link. Good luck, wish you the best.

Thanks! Then that's what I'm going to do then after I pay of my paint job!

If you're going DSMLink, just go big on the injectors-- 750s or better. They're usually about the same price as 660s and there's no disadvantage of getting the biggies. And you're then virtually assured of having enough injector, even if your performance goals change.

You can break 12s with a 14B, especially if you are AWD. Just a thought.

No, get the AFPR, it will make your life a hell of a lot easier and will give you another thing to adjust accordingly. Personally, though, I would just go with a 190. No AFPR and all the fuel a EVOIII will need.

And although this is true, there is nothing like a 0 mile turbo brand new. Plus the EVOIII makes is a lot easier to get to that 12 goal.

+1 on the FMIC though.

Very possible goal. Close friend of mine just ran a 13.03 :p on a 16G setup with 660's and DSMlink. Then he kicked himself in the head.

The 14b has well over 300whp in it. Running a cheap uesd 7cm^2 turbine housing (a bolt on) will insure this. I like my turbos nice and loose :p .

Shoot for low 12s with the evo 16g. And, yes, don't waste your money on small injectors, when 1150s can be tuned just as easily with dsmlink.

But watch out for that Kick in the Head. It really hurts :) . . . ;)

that should put you deep into the 12s on race gas. Since you never said 12's on pump or race. And probably get you easily into the 12.50-12.60 range on pump if it has a good tune and you can drive. If it were me, id add a set of cams and be looking for high 11's.

That's not very nice Sam. I actually have 720s but my duty cycle is around 60% so 660's should do fine. And I ran the 13.030 on 91 octane in mid 90* weather witha pretty good headwind blowing up the track. I'm sure my setup and yours have the ability to run 12's. I just need to do it.

Is your goal of running 12's a short term goal, or is that long term? If your are going dsmlink, why not go with 1150cc fuel injectors, walbro 255high pressure, and an aeromotive fpr. I went with fic 650cc fuel injectors and am now realizing that it was a waste of money and that I should have gone bigger to begin with. Im getting the larger injectors now... and am out around $280.00 dollars now. If you ever want to go faster then 12's, go with the larger fuel system, but if you will be happy in the 12's, you are on the right track:thumb:

I got an EVO VIII fuel pump for $20. You might even be able to get it for cheaper or free. Should be good for a 16g setup, obviously.

The evo8 fuel pump is good for anything under 20 psi boost with stock fuel pressure (43psi base + 20psi = 63psi). After that, it starts loosing flow very, very fast. This is because of an internal relief valve. It's a good budget fuel pump. Just be aware of this.

In 4 yrs since this post was made, I am sure he figured it out. But on another note, is the EVO8 useable on FWD or just AWD?
MIke

I did not notice that LOL . The evo8 fuel pump is a bolton for all 2g turbo cars. And I think the 2g and 1g pumps differ enough not to be considered a bolton. But I wouldn't let that stop me.
