Is anyone here running big boost on a 7-bolt block.I need to build my motor but I am wondering if anyone has built their 7-bolt without any problems. My car was built 11/94,I heard the later 7-bolt cranks were the ones with problems.Any info would be great, thanx :thumb: :dsm:

Well you are right, but it still doesent matter, 95's are still just as prone to crankwalk.

i have 96 and mine crankwalked last fall. I was running 25 psi on a 50 trim when it happened. I was at the track that day too. As i shifted from 3rd to 4th it walked on me. I had a 7.7 1/8th mile and i coasted to a 12.6 at like 80 something Mph.

I really dont know if it was just the fact that i was running huge hp. Or the fact that i just got unlucky. All im trying to say, is that i still will never trust a 7 bolt. unless its out of a 93.

All year DSM's are prone to Crankwalk. It's just that the 7 bolts have a higher insident case. (although personally in MN there are more crankwalked 6 bolts then 7 bolts so who knows?)

Anyrate if your going to build a motor go with a 6 bolt. Just my opinion.

I've thought about putting just rods in my 7 bolt, but with the cost of getting them to work with stock 2G pistons, vs the price of aftermarket pistons. Your just better off getting Pistons and Rods.
