alright guys.. im new to the dsm community and i just bought a 97 gst because i could see its vast potential. ok. I am looking to get this car into the high 200's possibly 300whp range. im looking to spend no more than $4000 in total but i need recommendations of good brands/dsm products:
1. a good turbo up to 22psi(i will never boost more) not too big n laggy, just enough and not too much.
2. a quality fmic kit/piping/BOv.
3. i also would welcome any suggestions of fuel enrichment, injectors, pump.
4. good manual boost controller.
5. turbo ex. manifold.
will i need an afc and will i need new/prgoram ecu?
any suggestions/ experience with products is welcomed
thanks in advance everyone.

Okay... here's my suggestions for your buildup

550s -- $250-$300
DSMLink -- $800ish (gotta buy an EPROM ECU) (Or S-AFC... but I recomend dsmlink for 2gs)
16g/B16G/L1 -- $600-900
FMIC -- Lots of choices for under $1000
BOV -- 1g if you want what works, Greddy Type S if you want "bling bling"... hks and blitz also apply as bling bling.
Boost Controller -- Joe P or Hallman $50 for either
Keep your existing exhaust manifold, port it for $75
Exhaust -- 3" exhaust, either from RRE or some other place that'll set you up with a 3" tubo-back with no press bends, mandrel only.

With good tires, and kick ass driving, you'll run some solid 12's with that setup.

I would recommend the tuning guide on this site, it has 2 levels for a 2g. They have a 300hp level and a 400 hp level. My personal setup would be similar to the one above as far as my goals but I don't have all of it currently. I would say DSM link over the AFC personally, I think its a better because if you get a logger and an AFC (you will need a logger) you have spent atleast 600-700 and as stated above you can get DSM link for that(and it does more than an AFC & logger put together but you need a laptop or some computer from in your car).I would say just follow the tuning guide and you can easily reach 300whp with your car. You can vary the price alot though dpending how elaborate you get, example- manual vs electronic boost controller, SMIC vs FMIC , etc etc.. but 300hp is an easy mark. It has been done by many people.
