Hey!

I need some help. On the Injen Intake, there is a hose that should go from the Intake to the Blow Off Valve. However, I want to plug it so that no hose come out from the intake at all at that place. what plug should I use? Anyone have any suggestions???

Please let me know. I have a hose right now there with the plug that came with the intake. but I want to remove the hose so it looks better but need ideas on what plug I should use.

no offense ... but you are a ricer. Venting the bov will make the car run like ass unless you have the maft setup. Search for "atmosphere venting" and see what people say about doing it. As for the plug I don't know what you would use. Recirculate the bov ... your car will run much better and it will still sound fine.

i went to a local hardware store and picked up a black rubber piece made for the leg of a chair/furniture that fits the pipe. had a clamp laying around. cost me $0.33. which means i also vent. which i have been doing for 3 months now, and a man with no fingers can count on his hands how many problems it has caused. GO US RICERS!!!!!1

by the way, nice dash kit :thumb:

Haha, so you are the one who bought that silver Eclipse. I was calling on that one when it was for sale...anyway, hope it runs good! I am going to try not to have open vent. However, I have never had any problems with it yet...go ricers!!!

There is no trying either you do or you don't. I simply used duct tape and taped it shut and that worked fine for me. Either way if you choose to vent hey it's all good. if my car ran better vented i would be right with you. And venting doesn't make you a ricer.

when i vented my gas mileage was crap....took about 6 months and i was down to getting 120 to the tank...though if you turn the screw on the bottem of your maf you can let more air in and it will help you fuel ratio.

Venting to the atmosphere is not a merit badge you can wear with pride. Every time you shift way too much extra fuel is dumped into the intake, which washes oil off the cylinder walls and comes out the tailpipe in a black cloud. You can vent with a VPC/speed density/MAFT setup, but stock venting is for morons and ricers.

hahaha, i tried venting once with a regular maf....it sucked

anyways to the subject, i pluged that whole with a pepsi cap...

ghetto huh?:thumb:

now i run a blowthrough setup, i now vent....

Damn, I must be a ricer then, Since i have the best BOV money can buy, and there is no way to recirc it . The funny thing is, My car runs completely fine, And i dont have a maft.

Dont call other dsm'ers names just because there not like you, And second of all, Figure out what your actually talking about before you post anything.

a blow thru is when you have your MAF after the compressor. The air will be blown thru the MAF by the turbo. Regular is a pull thru were it's before the compressor and it's being pulled thru.

totally agree matt. i saw no difference in gas mileage by recirculating my greddy bov and leaving my hks vented. However, i will be going with a blow through set up.

LOL

I must be a ricer also. I have the hks ssbov vented to atmosphere. I have no drivability problems. I think I have stalled when coming to a stop like twice, but thats probably due to the low vac coming form the cams. Some people make it sound like your car will run like ass vented. I think it is a combination of things on some of these horror stories. I also think you will ahve more probalems if the bov is intended to recirculate and you vent (sucking in some air at idle).

As far as making your car have shitty gas mileage, NO. It is using the same amount of fuel either way. It's just that the air isn't there any more causing it to run rich. It doesn't add fuel compared to a recirculated set up.

For a short term fix you could throw some duct tape on dat bish. I'm a ricer Yo!

Venting into the atmosphere sounds sweet, but in many circumstances it makes your car run like shit. MOst of the people who run a non-recirculating system have the ability to adjust thier BOV so it doesn't leak at idle. I personally run a closed system but I love the sound of a Greddy BOV venting to the atmosphere.:dsm:
