I'm starting to mod my 93 Talon TSi and want to know what order would be best to mod in... So far I already have a K&N filter w/hacked air can and hard intake pipe, MBC, boost gauge and AF gauge. I just ordered a 2.5" RNR SS turbo back exhaust, a set of eibach sport springs and koni yellows. What would be the best next step? Intercooler piping? Fuel pump, injectors, safc? My goal is to eventually have about 300fwhp using the stock 14b.

Oh, and has anyone ever tried the ebay intercooler pipes? Made by a company called "Altezzaworld" :barf: but they're decently priced.. Just curious.

I would say that I/C piping is I/C piping.
Next mod---may consider the following:
Atleast 2G mani---ported. 02 housing--ported. Walbro 255 and possibly bigger injectors, w/ FPR.

If you insiste on keeping the 14b, I would port it.

Just remember, for as much air as you want it to get (I/C, open filter, free mods, etc.....it needs the gas to accompany it.)

Like I sent you, I live in I/C too....and have a documented 11.22 second 93 Tsi AWD. I'd be glad to help you out, and/or check out your car sometime.

I go to the money-robbing Iowa, so maybe I've seen your car around? I tend to notice ALL DSMs, all relatively respectable cars for that matter. Even the junky ones.

And you'll want some form of tuning method, of course.

My coolest mod....89 Colt GT Turbo Shift knob...its about half the size of the 1g shift knob, and even a little shorter than the 2g knob. I like to tell ppl that is my biggest mod. :D

The factory knob blows... Fat and weird feeling. Clunky. What kind of gains would I get from the 2g mani? Besides it not cracking as easily, hah.

My car is black, pretty stock looking for now. I used to have a 3rd gen RX7, white, that I just sold... *sniffs* But I like my Talon too, and have enough money from selling it to be completely debt free, mod my talon to 300hp, and still have cash left over for other fun stuff hehe.

Hey---add me to your MSN---i got the hook up on DSM parts....I actually have 3 1gs.

If you don't, Im going to race you...let off when I pass you, so my bov blows your fender off.

The 2g Mani flows 40% better than 1g, I believe....more beneficial when ported. EVO III is better yet, and the individual runner, Turbo header, which I run, is best....that I've found.

The 1g mani is VERY restricitve. That's what I'd do next. The 2gs are very cheap if you look round, I actually think I have a couple lying around....

I've seen a few on ebay, but no real prices. A lot of em are all rusty too, hah. Oh well. If it does flow that much better, it's probably worth picking up.

Looks like your well on your way:)

Change all fluids if you have not yet;) (Timing belt if you have not)

IMO a ported 2g exh. manifold and or evolll
fuel managment would be my next step.
Datalogger
Safc II
larger fuel pump
larger injectors.
fuel pressure regulator.

That should help alot, but I constantly erge people to get datalogger and safc II (managment) before power mods. (saves time hassle and money.)

Good Luck and have fun with your machine

Would I need an FPR if I just got a 190lph fuel pump? From what I've heard, that'd be enough for the amount of mods I want to do, and I thought i heard that you don't need an FPR with one... Would save me some cash, hehe.

For the manifold, would a ported 1g flow well enough? Or should I just stick to the 2g?

What about FP rewire... Would I still have to do it with an aftermarket FP? If I do, is it worth it to get one of the "rewire kits"? Or just grab some wiring from ace.

i would just go w/ the EVO 3 manifold. it flows alot better then the 2g. its only about $30 more, and its worth it.

john

please do a fp rewire
if you change ur fp. u might as well changes ur wires too no?if it flows more, wires have to be bigger...
i often heard that stock, they re already not big enough...if u test em, u ll most probably get 9, somethin while they re supposed to be at 12v
i bought one of those fp rewires from ebay, and it seems to run no problem
dont just buy some wires from ur localstore cause it s seriously worth the money, and it s not just 1 wire...
to go the cheap way, ur fp s fine for now withe the rewire
to answer your first question i kinda have the same mod as u, but here s my advice
first : now that u re gettin your exhaust line, finish the job by puttin a 2g ported o2 housing ,
change the fluids
the evo 3 mani s a verygood idea too
a pocketlogger
a fmic ifyou live ina hot state
then follow the guide
