I am installing an sc61 turbo in my car and this turbo is only oil cooled. I know the coolant lines need to be looped, however I have a 1g head on my 2g so I have the 1g coolant lines. The have the fitting on the end where a banjo is supposed to connect them directly to the turbo. It's not like on the 2gs where you just connect a hose from 1 line to the other. How do I go about looping these? I read that just plugging them off is bad...

I took off the water pipe and cut the parts off the pipe where the stock water lines went. My 50 trims housing was too big to even fit with the stock water pipe and rather then going to a n/t water pipe, i just cut off the pieces that were useless and had them welded up. If you plan to do that, keep in mind that when you cut it off, it is brass at the hole, so you will have to find some one that knows, or is willing to braise weld. Not many people do it anymore, they only tig, mig, etc. It is brass because brass is better for vibration is what the welder told me, plus it's better for temp. repedative temp changes. Here is a pic of my pipe where and what i cut off.

ok I see. Well I am using a custom manifold that spaces the turbo farther away from the block so I should have no problems clearing the pipe. Can I just cut the line like 3" away from the main water pipe and bead it ... then use a coolant hose and connect it to the other water line? Also ... instead of using the hard line to run from the oil cooler to the thermostat housing can I just use a rubber coolant hose? I figure that way I'll clear the turbo better.

or if looping isn't possible I can just get a big bolt and screw it into the fitting right? Then block off the other coolant line. I'd rather loop them ... but this seems easy as well.

I know you've seen monster garage.

Do what you gotta do, but make sure it works and is reliable, cuz u don't want to have to tear into it again and again to patch things up, cuz it's a bi*** to get to. That is why i went with the welding, plus the dudes shop is like 1/2 a mile from my house and it was only 20 bucks.

BTW: I have a south florida performance manifold that I got with my AGP turbo kit, but the water pipe still had to be cut off cuz it was impossible to fit with the one piece that is about the turbo housing.

test fit twice, bolt on once. LOL
