DSM's have 2-bolt mains. Some big block muscle car motors used to have 4-bolt mains.

Like redman said, they all have 2 bolt mains, early 1G's (up thru 9204.3) had 6 bolts holding the flywheel to the crank and later had 7 bolts.

The question of 4 bolts refers to the later 1G rear axles. The 4 bolt rear ends are found on 92 and later 1G's.

In both cases, these are just identifiers of parts that have sigificant other differences that make them desirable.

DSMs have a girdle that has all the crank bearing caps as one piece. Fairly odd stuff, in my experience.
