Whats up with my times?!

Ok... I have a Gtech, and I know they arent the most reliable things in the world, but here it goes.... I did a run with my '95 Saturn SC2 and my time was averaging 16.49 1/4s... the other day I did a run in my Talon for the first time and got 18.something 1/4s... what is up with that? The Talon seems SOOO much faster... is it just the Gtech not reading right? When I align it (to zero it) it sits at like a 45 degree angle (downward)... would that have something to do with it?? This is pretty aggrivating...I cant imagin that I am running that slow...... What do you guys think?

If your car is running 18 smth in the 1/4 and its AWD, then you have some serious problems on your hand. Like you said, don't put much stock into that Gtech thing...one thing that it can never calculate is your anticipation of the lights turning green at the track. You have to get staged and just sit and wait and hope you have a good reaction time.

It shouldn't be at a 45 unless you are going up a damn steep hill (or going down it).

did u run the Talon in the same area you ran the Saturn?? Gtech really only works on a super flat ground and even then its not accurate enuf for me.. my Gtech times from my camaro a few years ago were off by a full second.

I wasnt in the exact same place or anything, but everything is flat in Florida! I think that the Gtech is just really off (I think the angle of it had a lot to do with it). Thanks guys!

Yeah, there is no way you have an 18 sec DSM. he he Even the NA's are faster than that. I agree with the whole G-tech, don't bother with it, etc.

Go to Gainesville one of these nights and test it out there. I wouldn't even bother with Jax Raceways...it's such a POS track and only 1/8.
