Simple question... in order to install a 20g turbo, do you need to install 550+ injectors at the same time? I've heard suggestions to do so, but is it mandatory? Don't get me wrong, I'm getting injectors, but if I do get a 20g, I'd like to put it on and not wait til I have the money for injectors and S-AFC.

I have a super20g from hrc and my vpc wasnt running right so I swiched back to the stock injectors and it ran fine, I didnt go above 16 psi of boost though. it actualy ran better than with the 550s and the vpc

Just don't go high on boost and you should be fine...what you find is that if you do run higher boost on those injectors, your duty cycle will be 100% if you log it and you won't know how high above 100% you actually are. Also, you'll most likely hit fuel cut if you don't have some means of fuel control.

Just keep the boost low like mentiond above. If you have proper monitoring gauges just watch them, (I hope so)and you will be fine.

An AFPR and AFC will help you get away with bigger injectors for a while. However, 550s are prefered if you want to fully utilize the turbo.

This turbo will be able to be used to its highest performance capabilities if you install a 550 system. I have read alot about it and it is supposed to be better for the engine and for the turbo itself. It also recommends a new cooling system and a new exhaust, but they are not necessities.

I also have the HRC20G and from what I was told, bigger injectors let you run higher boost on pump gas. I have 720CC injectors, FPR, 2 fuel pumps and I can boost on the street on 91 octane of about 1.45 bar without a hiccup and EGT's reaching only 850C. Last night, the damn boost spiked to 1.66 and god knows what the hell happened there, but car only hit 860C. But before my upgraded fuel system, as long as you have a Front Mount, and not boost above 15psi , you should be ok. Juss be careful.
