hypereutectic pistons???

what are the goods and bads of hypereutectic pistons?? i was thinking of buying some, but dont know if i should. i have a 91 talon and i cracked 3pistons and looking to get new ones. the reason i an asking about these pistons is because im getting them for 134.00 with rings and i think that is a fairly good price, but i want opinions before i buy them. im on a $300 dollar budget for pistons. help!!!

About all I know about them is they came stock on the 94-95 Cobras (last years of the 5-0s).

Hypereutictic pistons have more silicon in them. This allows you to run tighter cylinder wall clearance to reduce "cold engine rattle". That and the lower price are the only advantages that I know of. They are excellent for non-interference fit, non-power added motors. However because of the high silicon content they are prone to catastrophic breakage if hit hard. If you loose a belt it could get very expensive. That is why I would stay away from them for a turbo DSM. The factory pistons would be a better choice for a daily driver and forgings a better choice for racing.
