ive got about 105000 miles on my gst right now and i want to prevent crankwalk for a little longer. what exactly is done in a rebuild that fixes crankwalk. i know the oil squirters are the culprit of crankwalk can you get away with just replacing them? THANKS FOR ANY INFO>

There is no proven cause for crankwalk, only theories. Replace or block off your oil squirters and make sure the thrust bearing is properly aligned and then pray.

:( pray and then pray some more.

If you really want to learn do a search on the crankwalk fix by one of our members then check out magnus for their info.

But what I would suggest is to get a bucket of cluck because their is alot of reading.:|

LMFAO!!! That needs to be quoted. My crank walked and my girl left me.

Dont rebuild the 7-bolt. You're just wasting your money. Go get yourself a 6-bolt and prepare it to be swapped when the 7-bolt walks.

Sounds like the next big hit country soung!;)

I've done it both ways. I've rebuilt the 7bolt. Now I'm going 6 bolt. Believe me, just do it right the first time. Get the 6bolt. It doesn't cost anymore to go 6 bolt is you can locate one that is already running, that is short block, than to rebuild the 7bolt shortblock. And don't worry about the better flowing 1g head. A little port work and the 2g can flow just as well. You can PM me for more info on my swap. :dsm: :thumb:
