What exhaust gas temps should I see?

Depends, idle? wot ? Depends on you fuel tuning. could be lower of higher and depends on your gauge.

Okay lets say a VOD EGT....Whats normal for idel stock and normal for WOT stock? I figure you would always want your temps around those areas for saftey purposes.

You want to tune for 1500 at wot at idle it doesn't really matter.

My gauge is an auto meter. My mods are in my profile( the afc and 550s aren't in yet). I'm running 15psi. What should they be at idle, cruise speed like 3500 rpms, and WOT. If the tip of the probe is touching the bottom of the exhaust mani will that mess with the readings.

Yes, it must be in free air. I run about 720 during cruise. 3500 RPM's is closer to 80 MPH though, so it might run as hight as 760-780 during cruise. Don't worry about it at idle. Mine might be at like 400C during idle--I don't know.

Taken from the MASC digital EGT site...

Location: Before the Turbocharger, in the exhaust manifold runner..
Temps: ~1350° F @ 75 mph Cruise, closed loop
~1550° F @ Wide Open Throttle, Max Hp
------------------

As for me...

On my 1G, I have a Greedy EGT. Highway cruising at 3K-3.5K (70-80MPH) I am right around 720-760° C. WOT goes to 850° C by the end of 4th. Idle at start up is around 400-450° C and on shutdown I make sure it is at 500° C or lower.

On my 2G, I have an Autometer. Highway cruising at 3K-3.5K (70-80MPH) I am right around 1320-1350° F. WOT goes to 1550° F By the end of 4th. Idle at start up is around 1000° F and on shutdown I make sure it is at 1000° F.

One thing about the Autometer.... I think the probe sucks. Doesn't move quick and never drops below 1000° F unless the car is off. I swapped my Greedy from the 1G and it registered much faster and had readings resembling those I got in the 1G. I highly recommend either a Greedy EGT or replace the pob with one from TRE. May be more money, but you get what you pay for.

i got the auto meter EGT asd well - at start up / idle im at 800 deg unless i have been going WOT or part throttle then the mani is heat soaked and takes a few to get back to 800 at WOT ive been anywere from 1500 - 1600 deg and at cruise im around 1400 my probe is in the #1 runnner

Wow maybe I should tune better... At idle my (greddy) is at around 300) cruising (3-3.5k) I never goes over 720*. At wot it never goes over like 820*...

I think you are tuned pretty good. Can you squeeze out more power? Probably, but it seems to me that you have your car tuned, a little on the safer side, which is perfect. All cars are different of course, but your EGTs are right around what everyone has.

Also, after drving home from work yesterday and doing some cruising, my idle on the Greedy is 300-350_° C at start up. Upon arriving at my destination, if driven hard is 500-520° C, dropping to 450° C after a minute or so and if just driven casually, it comes in around 480° C, dropping after a minute or so.

both probes on the 1G and 2G are in the #1 runner.
