I was jacking up the car the jack slipped and this happened.

Now I only get 13psi when I'm set for 19psi and I don't reach full boost till past 5k. OMG

I'm going to pressure test it tommorrow if that tells me nothing it's coming off and getting a thorough examination.

There's no holes in it so either an IC pipe cracked or one of the endtanks cracked. It may be fixable.

sucks man, where the hell did you have the jack placed? And how did it slip?

The jack was under the crossmemeber like normal. I don't know what happened, it all happened so fast.

Holy crap, that sucks! Good thing you weren't under there when it happened! OMG

I've taken to using a piece of wood between the jack and the crossmember, since I had it slip a bit once when I had it up there; since adding the wood, it seems to have a much firmer grip. I've been planning on cutting a few notched pieces for the sides as well (like the stock jack's head is notched) for the jack stands.

Spose it could have been worse, if you was underneath the car and the jack had slipped? I'd still be well pissed though.

Ya I always use jackstands after the car is jacked up. This happened while I was in the process of jacking it up. I didn't boost on it that much on the way to work this morning. I will have to pull the bumper and get a closer look.

Sorry to hear that man :( that sux majorly. I was pissed when I broke my EGT probe and that's not nearly as expensive as your FMIC. Hope you can get it fixed for a reasonable price.

Nope and the core is screwed pulled it off tonight the top and bottom were dented. I ran water thru it and leaked out everywhere

so what u gonna replace it with?

Not sure yet. I going to use my same endtaks to retain my piping and just get a new core. I'm pricing out cores now but I don't know the flow rates so I don't know what core to get that will flow enough for the L2R.

Don't just go by CFM when it comes to intercoolers because a lot of your cooling properties come from the amount of surface area or cubic inches of the core. The IRC core is a Spearco 2-216 that flows 790 CFM with 1.5psi pressure drop which is less than some other intercoolers that aren’t even close to being as big. Just keep in mind that the size and design of the core is more important than how much it flows.

The core design plays a huge role in how efficient an intercooler can cool. All these tube-fin cores like the SpoolinUp core might flow more but can’t dissipate the heat as well as a bar-plate design.

Here's the link to Spearco's site:

They aren't answering. So I e-mailed ben since I don't have kevins e-mail or number. I used to have his cell-# but can't find it.

I would run it over with a streamroller and hang it on the wall for a decoration. I have seen it done with brass instruments before.

I recommend the get an Indy Race Core FMIC. Another one that I think is really nice is the Victory Performance intercooler. These are both great “kits”.

The truth is if you want just a core call Spearco. I’m sure they will have exactly what you need. I do think that IRC takes the cake on the routing of the IC pipes but if you just want a core call Spearco. You might want to go to Spearco’s site and look at what they say about Custom Fab jobs.

First thing you need to do is consult with AGP and see what they think.

I dented the crap out of my Buschur core when I ran into a curb at 50 mph. Mine leaked badly also. I took it to a very good tig welder and he welded it up without too much issue. It doesn't look as pretty, but it sure beats spending $600 for a new core. The only issue is that you need a very good welder, because the material is very thin.

AWDriven.
