Sorry guys, I see the post directly below me is similair to mine but..... I din't get the answer I was looking for in that thread so I am starting a new one. I have a 1995 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. I was interested in buying an EVO 1-3 engine for it.

Does it bolt in directly?

Will I need the the ECU or Wire Harnass out of the car or can I use my existing one?

What will be the difference and will there be enough gain to make it worth it?

Thanks in advance for answering my question......

Gain in what? Reliability? Performance? Coolness?

If you're scared about crankwalk get a 6 bolt.
If you're trying to go fast, or make more power, save your money and modify your engine following any number of performance guides.
If you're trying to be cool with a JDM engine, go for it.

As for what exactly you would need to make it work....I don't know. People have done it on this board and they can tell you.

I would say I am looking for all of the above....... I read that EVO 1-3's are almost impervious to crankwalk. I know the turbo and ex aust manifolds are suppose to be bigger and better.

What would the gain difference between our standard 4g63's (stock) and the gain with the EVO 4g63?

Unless you're looking for direct bolt on, skip it.

They have the same weak 2G rods, same lower flowing 2G head, a weak intake manifold, etc etc.

It's a 2G motor with some higher compression pistons. That's it. The other stuff that they come with to make "MAD TYTE" power is just bolt on crap which doesn't justify the usually exorbant prices people ask for them.

EVO motors can crankwalk like all 7 bolts.

rods are not 2g for an evo 1-3. do you think a 2g rod could take 450 hp pegging off of the limiter, for a whole race? also the have a 8.8 comp ratio. and i believe they have a steel crank in them to. but other then that i think they are basicly the same. and all motors can crankwalk but the evo motors dont like the us 7 bolts.

for the money that your gonna spend on an evo motor just rebuilt what you have, or get a 6 bolt and rebuild that. and still put money in your pocket.
