Anyone here fabricate there own dp? I was thinking of doing one myself or getting an exhaust shop to do it. Is this a realistic idea, or am I better off buying a manufactured one? Being from Canada with the exchange rate makes buying parts across the border really expensive, your input is greatly appreciated.

I just ordered a flex pipe and im gonna build my own hopefully next week. Any tips for me using the mig welder, Im new at welding.

My only tip is after you cut all your pipe and your ready to weld it take it down to a muffler shop and get them to expand the ends of the pipe so you can slip one inside the other to weld it. This will save you alot of time and trouble and you don't have to worry about burning the ends of the pipe off. If you haven't already buy the flange from RRE to weld the pipe to so you can bolt it to your o2 housing.

Oh yea buy the way I did build my own 3' exhaust and had some told me this I could have saved my self ALOT of time. One more thing I forgot if all you have to cut the pipe is a hacksaw either borrow or rent a circular saw or something electric that cuts clean strait lines. This is very important.

Thats where i was gonna get the flange. I need the 2.5" 2 bolt flange for the dp, correct? I wonder if i should buy a few other flanges. Like where the cat should go in case I want one later and where the muffler should go, in case the muffler i get sucks. You know of a cheap good sounding muffler? Im on a low budget right now. thanks

i had a local muffler shop do my whole exhaust system. they made a 3'' downpipe to a highflow cat then 3" pipe to a tenzo muffler. all installed for $469!!! thats less than the cost of a cat-back system!!! i have no complaints, works and sounds great!

-Me me me, like other had said, Road///Race have flanges and the correct angle DP 1st-bend section, the 2 bolt flange is much thicker than the 3 bolt one, use clear packing tape to test fit the joints, this way you can see if the joints are tight and the tape will melt away once you start to weld.
