I need some advice I'm about to buy turbo back exhaust and I can't decide on which one I want I'm definitly getting buschur's 2.5" DP and hi flo cat but I can't decide which cat-back to get. I'm down to Thermal and Buschur I like both exhausts my friend has the thermal and I love the way that it sounds but its a tad to quite for my liking even with the dp and hi flo but the buschur has a little bit of a ricey sound to it but its louder.

Anyway I like both exhausts and need some advice so those of you who have heard both exhausts or have one of them let me know what you think.

Thanks for the input

rsr downpipe and catback. Been there done that. sounds great great price. Perfect fit and finish, looks greta sounds great. e-mail me privately if you want to see it on mine.

how did you get your RSR cat back and DP? i know RRE makes RSR/APEX "style" DP, but i can't find RSR cat back anywhere, even on the japanese RSR website. unless, if the cat back for evo III would fit on our cars, then we might have a chance.

RSR's are very nice, and no longer made, but they neck down.

Thermal Exhausts ALSO neck down.

Get the Buschur or an ATR (Victory has them).

What do you mean neck down?

necked down to fit the stock cat but this isn't such a huge problem as you can take it to a muffler shop and have them cut & weld to fit a 3" test pipe or cat.

now, since you said you are DEFINITELY getting buschur's 2.5" DP and 2.5" high flow cat, i *think* these should bolt up unless the stock cat's flanges are smaller than buschurs 2.5" cat. But since you like the thermal so much and its not loud enough, why not just go with a 3" downpipe and test pipe or 3" high flow cat? it should make the catback louder with the larger diameter front pipe. you will definitely need to hack the catback to get rid of the neckdown in this case. a lot of the 'pre made' exhausts neck down (thermal, greddy, etc) because they expect people to use it with thir stock cats. the custom ones such as AHP, RNR, probably buschur, shouldn't neck down if you tell them what you are bolting it up to.

i personally run an apexi N-1 that does not neck down, instead had a reducer piece to go to my stock cat. once i got the N-1 downpipe with cat eliminator, i got rid of the reducer and it all bolted right up. pretty loud at wot and deceleration :)

I was thinking of going with the 3" dp, tp w/thermal catback but buschur's is a slip fit and that causes a problem at inspection time and I don't think I need a 3" cause I'm only going with a Big 16G turbo.
The Buschur 2.5dp, tp should bolt on to the thermal no problem cause the hi-flo did on my friends car. My main problem now is sound.

ok. ATR is loud as hell.. its the straightest piping available for AWD. my friend has an ATR turboback. if its loud you want, i'd suggest looking into that. bring your earplugs... :)

i personally have the ATR 3" catback on my car and i must admit that its not as LOUD as I thought it was gonna be......I guess its mainly because i was used to having my exhaust run straight from the downpipe for a couple months.....but overall im satisfied with it.....aside from the ugly a** muffler .....it performs well and sounds great when you blast on it......

Do you think that the ATR isn't as loud as the AWD versions because it has more bends the the AWD model? From the pictures, the AWD one looks like a straight pipe almost. The FWD having all these bends in it.

=^.^=

Its really muffler design and not so much being straight through. I have the extreme turbo 3" o2 elim turbo back and it sound great, perfroms great and the muffler looks ok (its a magnaflow muffler). Its very straight through, and is one of the best sounding>IMO. Its not very quite but isnt as loud as the atr...its good for the price also!

Well I got and installed my ATR exhaust today I also got my Buschur 2.5" DP and TP
and I have to say that it sounds awesome.
Good power jump too.

Hey White99GSX, let me know when you are working next so I can stop out and check out the car. I got a boost gauge finally and I'm probably going to need to stop by to get some little extras so that I can install it.
