timing belt cover

i have the lower timing belt cover on, how important you think it is to have the whole timing assembly covered. Can it go without?

you can but I wouldnt recommend it. Dirt and dust will get into areas and cause wear on the timing belt. I would keep it on. engineers put stuff on for a reason... sometimes

haha yea....thanks for the input, only reason i ask is cuz the motor is in the car and it is a pain to put it on with it in the car, should have done it before i put the motor in, my stupid ass wasnt thinkin. Thanks

If you have to lower one on then the upper one goes one with like 3 bolts. If takes like 45 sec.

On a 2g there different than a 1g.......the 2g have three peices....lower, middle and upper. While the 1g is only a 2 peice

If you toss a pebble about the size of a BB up into the belt, your chances of skipping a tooth are fairly high.
