Ok hears my situation, my Girlfriend has found a 95 Talon TSI 4g63T FWD 5-speed for 900 Dollars. BUTTT the engine is shot. The kid ran the car with out oil. So im thinking the Turbo is oil Cooled and lubed so thats probly ceased with the engine. Since the cames and rockers and cam followers and such get oil lubed then those are porbly shot too. So im looking for a motor for her. I work at advanced Auto Parts and a engine from my job will come with a head but no turbo, and their pretty shitty engines. with a crapy warrenty. it coast 2500 plus a 500 core after my discount its about 2000 with a 500 core. Plus 800 for a turbo with175 dollar core. So i really dont want to do that. I dont want to take a chance with Junk yard Engines plus that coast like2200 thats way to much for a junk yard engien with NO warrenty. Then im looking at places like VT. 2500 the balance, Blue Print ETC but i still need a head and tubo and they need the engine and mines is shot soooo hears where i am asking for help. Does anyone know of places where i can get a crate motor or get a rebuilt motor and then send them my crapy motor. Basicly i need a good or stock block and a good or stock head and a good or stock turbo. Shes not going to go crazy cuz she doesnt know much about cars and im going to slowy teach her so i dont think im going to get beyond Bolt on's with her. But can anyone help.

Thanks in Advance DSMtuners.

I started to get carpal tunnel so I stopped.

Now, about the problem (the car problem, that is). If she needs a new motor, you DO NOT want to buy it from anywhere like Advanced (or VIP, Pep-Boys, or any other chain or generic rebuild shop).

You have 3 options: A new motor from Mitsubishi (very pricey), a used motor from a junkyard or parts car, or a rebuild motor from a GOOD dsm shop.

Don't do anything but any of these choices. If I was in your shoes, I would probably just get a motor from a parts car or a junkyard and put it in.

There's a shop called Attarco, that always sends it's list of engines to my work place and they've consistently sold used 4G63Ts for $450. I'm located in San Francisco so that may or may not help you much. Also, don't buy a T25 turbo; especially not one for $800 plus core charge. Either buy a much better turbo with that money or do some more looking around and pay much much less for a used/rebuilt T25.

JDM swap would be nice, had a shop drop a cyclone into my 91gst for me, never ran right though. Think that that was becasue the jdm engiens come with 510cc injectors?? Didn''t have any diag/logging tools back in the day. Just remeber, i think the jdm swaps are 1g based, you'll have to do some modifications to the 2g if you swap in a 6bolt. Good luck.

If this was me i would look into those but its for my girl she wants a reliable car but with some power. She knows nothing about cars.

They have a JDM 4g63T Cyclone Engine for cheap are they direcet bolt on's. My girl cant be woring about wiring and stuff like that. Basicly if i order this engien for her and she bring it to a shop are they going to be able just to drop this bad boy in and thats it.

Buy the 6 bolt (I just bought mine :thumb: ) . The 7 bolts walk mine did, If you want it to be reliable do the 6. The mods arnt that hard. You need to custom cut one mount, flip two clyinders around on the coil pack, then 95-96 (mine) you flip 4 ecu wires around (not that hard the ecu is under radio). Then you have your 6 bolt. If you have a garage do it your self saves money. :D :dsm:

Excellent customer service. I got a jdm tranny and transfer case with 20000 miles on it shipped to my door for 600 bucks. Entire engine and tranny and transfer case 1550 shipped.
I checked out the jdm engine site, would it be better to buy a 1g 6bolt and rebuild it or buy the jdm set up for 1550 shiped and just drop it in? How was your experience , shipping time, product, what mods did u have to make for the jdm swap? thanks.
