Ok, I've just finished installing my Greddy Type S BOV. I have the black version not the purple one and the screw on top is different. Its just a allen screw with a philips head on it.

I bought a Greddy Type S Flange from DeJon tools, and it didn't fit that well. It didn't fit in the intercooler pipe like the stock one did. I had to raise the fastener a little bit so it would stick onto the flange. There are 2 nipples on the BOV and I connected the hose to the top nipple and left the other one loose. The hose didn't fit in the nipple that well. That hose was real loose too, so I used water piping tape to wrap the nipple a couple of times and the hose stuck on pretty well. Everything is bolted up pretty much fine right now.

Now, my problem... Is the Greddy Type S supposed to sound like a loud squeek? Cause when I rev the engine to hear the BOV, I hear a loud squeek when I left off the gas at 6500rpm.

Now I know there is something wrong with my Turbo and I need a new one. I bought a new T25 for my car but I haven't put it in yet. But before I changed my BOV, I was boosting at least 3/4 on the stock boost gauge. Now I'm only boosting half way. Is it because of my BOV is not installed right?

After I took out the stock bov, I checked the spring on it and it seems like the stock BOV was a lot harder than my Greddy Type S. I can push the spring of my Type S in with my thumb with a little force, but with the stock one, I had to use some more strength. Is something wrong with my Type S?

some Type-S came in black. i used to have a black one.

Doodie,
the Greddy is supposed to make that loud squeak. that's it signature noise. as for using stock boost gauge, don't even bother

maybe you need to adjust it. had to play with mines to get it right.

I will buy it off you if you don't like it. Man, are you crazy? not liking a BOV sound?

The type-S sounds like a high squeek when you just rev it up, but under a load while your driving it is more like a sneeze (a high pitched chipmunk sneeze, albeit) tighten the spring until it kinda just flutters when your under low boost or not really gunning it, so that it only sneezes at near full throttle, then you're set. Enjoy.

Ps. I prefer the Greddy sound to the Turbo XS RFL which sounds like a large "CHUUUGH!" even under half boost, kinda obnoxious if you ask me. Haven't heard the HKS or Blitx yet.

OK guys... my GReddy Type-S bov makes a real quick chirp type sound in between shifts, so... from what I've read so far I'm assuming the noise is normal and not compressor surge am I correct? I have my bov set on the hard side and currently running 21psi on my FP Big28. I just want to make sure that it is not compressor surge. Thanks!

i thought compressor surge was a fluttering sound... i don't believe i've ever experienced so i really wouldn't know what it sounds like
