PLEASE HELP!!!I just bought a 99 gst with a 4g63 6 bolt.The car runs but,not the way it should.I think it needs to be tuned but,not too sure.My oil filter blew off the housing breaking the nipple clean off.How do I determine what year my engine is?I've ordered two housings an both are wrong.

Look for the VIN number on the engine when you find it look for the 10th digit. Well it actually should be a litter But the tenth will tell you what year it is. Here is a little Decoder I guess to help you determine the year.

A- 1980
B-1981
C-1982

You get the idea but here is around what yours should be

L-1990
M-1991
N-1992
O-1993
P-1994
