I am in the process of doing a manual to auto conversion. I have most everything I need, but the donor car's harness as been cut. The donor transmission is from a 94 and used 2 plug tcu. I have both a two plug and a three plug one available, would like to use the three because it is an eprom. Also have the ability to get a three plug harness.

Aside from the obvious 2 plug vs 3 plug deal, what is the major differences between how the TCU and transmission works together on a 1g awd?

The solenoids are a different resistance too right?

Is that the only thing?

So are you asking what the difference is between early year autos and later year 1G autos?

For what it's worth, people have made patch harnesses to us a two-plug TCU in a 3 plug TCU car and visa versa with no ill effects. GDN2FET can tell you all about it.

The 1g and 2g trans are set up almost the same.Except the 2g has a lockup deal.Nevermind about that.

It's a dsm auto,What do you want to know? You got the auto rear diff right?

That and the 2G Trans has a different mount setup than the 1G trans. The 1G has one trans mount and three engine mounts. 2G is exactly opposite.

Pretty much. I do't know if there is any differece in some of the connectors, the way the solenoids work, ect.. It would be nice if it is as easy as wiring the three plug tcu up.

The ohm difference between the solenoids won't matter?

There are three connecters at the trans that are different;
The kickdown servo switch
The shift selector
The temp sensor in the pan

Some people don't hook the factory temp sensor back up, I'm one of them..
The pics are for a 93 trans..They are a direct swap for the early 1g parts..
