So I am having a hell of a time finding a used w4a33 so i was going to see if maybe its something simple that you guys may have heard of thats wrong with my current one.

History, bought this car from somebody on here and EVERYTHING has had to be replaced. I have built up a longblock to go in, but during me getting parts together for the longblock, the trans decided to give me hell.
The previous owner says he has built this trans with the IPT kit and it supposedly has an IPT restall. Normally i would say it may be but literally 90% of the stuff he said was done to the car was actually not done.

ISSUE
So the first month or so i had it, the car drove ok, shifted a little abrupt a time or 2 but for the most part ran ok. Then one day it started to do this.....
If you put in in 1st manually it will go into first, everythings normal and when you shift into 2nd manually, it will stay in 1st. To get it out of first i have to either go to Neutral or Stop and put it in park.
Other than that, the take off was extremely slow because when left in drive, it doesnt start in first gear, I beleive its in limp mode 3rd.
The following only happened one odd day, when i went to drive it, i went to back out and it was jumping in and out of Reverse (like it was stick and i was going in and out with the clutch). On the way home, i was rolling (luckily not too fast) and put it in Neutral, it clicked in and grabbed Reverse. It was only a split second and i pulled it back but IDK.

Things Ive tried
I thought for sure after that last bit that the shifter cable was loose. I checked it and tried a couple different adjustments but no luck. I checked all the connections to the trans and TCU but it seems they are all good.

I am away at work now but i want to try the kiggly shifter mod and see if it is some electical issue but have the old engine taken apart and will be putting the nice new longblock in when i get home.

Anybody ever heard of this? What else can I try?

Have you opened up the TCU yet and checked the board for damage? Have you checked to see if the 2 holes are lined up on the gear selector while in neutral ?

I havent taken the TCU apart yet, I did make sure the holes line up in Neutral though. All looks correct with the shifter lever.

So a little update for future searches, I replaced the trans with another i had while i was doing an engine swap and it shifted the exact same. So I did the kiggly manumatic mod and it shifts perfect. Definately a wiring issue possibly TCU but no need for all that headache now with the Kiggly mod.
