So I tried my hand at the track last night just to see where my car was at, and found out how slow it really takes off, i ran 15.6 sec with a 60 ft of 3.86 sec... My mph was decient at 110 but now Im stuck trying to figure out how to get my car to spool from a stop. I tried brake boosting to get it up in the rpms but it never went past 4 psi. So far from what Iv read is to us anti lag or bump up timing alot where Im launching but before i do i want to see what everyone else is doing, what they run for timing, ect. Thanks

im assuming this is an automatic?

Hmmm think about this. You're in the "Automatic Tranny" section of the Drivetrain forum...

Perhaps some nitrous is in store for you my friend.. Just to get up on stall and a little out of the hole. Maybe check out other auto guys and PM them to see what they do to get out of the hole a little faster.. Because a 3.8 60' is horrible..

Stock converter/stall? May want to try a small nitrous shot to get it up on the converter. Also, do a boost leak test and make sure everything is sound at that.

Yea dont think stock stall will spool up a holset. There should be a local shop that will restall your converter a little looser. $200 seems to be the average.

Auto's like to be lean with high timing while on the brakes. Unless your spraying, but thats somewhere i havent been yet so i cant give any advice from personal experience.

i dont pay attention to sub sections, i see a title in the new post and i click it.....

yeah it has the stock converter, only trans mod is a shift kit.. Just tried bumping the timing to stupid levels with no success, so none of that. And fuel was on the lean side when brake boosting. Ill take the advice and get a restall and start at a 50 shot. Stall wise i was thinking of a 3800 stall since i can get a good spool at 4000 rpm, what do you guys run for a stall? I have the bep housing so it spools faster but since the 280 cams low end has been NON exsistant.

Try to get in contact with Sinister Speed. They can get you a converter to stall up around 3500 and put you closer to the powerband while maintaining excellent top end. Also since you have link try converting to speed density as that should help as well. This will dramatically lower your times..

How much your boosting?

Are you brake boosting with the e-brake as well?

I recall b-boosting in my car & I launched anywhere from 2200-2900 I believe. The car starts to crawl after a certain point. It is also very easy to bog out.

How is your tune? 25 lbs should make you float. Any you shouldn't need MORE than 3200 to spool that Holset I would think.. You sure there are no boost leaks? Do you have upgraded mounts?

Absolutly no boost leaks and i have a good tune, it took me most of the summer to get just the way i want. Its ever since i put on the bc 280's, hx35 and the jmfab smim it lost all hope brake boosting at its current stall, but thats expected with those mods since i gained a crazy amount of top end. I know from a roll at 4k i can wot and itll boost to 24 almost instantly thats my reasoning behind a 3800 stall. And all the mounts are poly filled and very solid.

Speed density gives you much better boost response and there are no restrictions. Its just a thought that may actually help you. But like you said, the 280's along with smim is not helping you build boost off the line so you can try a new converter with higher stall or just a 50-75 shot should do the trick.

If you want to brake boost, with a turbo of that size, your gonna have to get a looser converter or nitrous. Playing with timing and/or afr might help get you over the hump, but you'll still be sitting on the converter so long you'll be damaging the tranny.

I would put nitrous on it and that will fix the problem pretty quickly.

I ran 280's ,drag JMF on stock converter and would get 1.6 60's 9.6's at 148mph with n20 and 3.2 60's 13.20 at 139mph with out n20

This is no lie I have video's ot prove it
by the way it was a 100 shot single fogger
