I'm rebuilding my motor and transmission. Doing a basic rebuild. I was looking at the oil cooler, and there are some fins missing. I'm thinking of replacing it. Are these coolers prone to failing. The car is 11 years old.
 
I would suggest replacing it. You can get a much better, new one for cheap. Heat is the number one enemy of an AT.
