I picked up a 92 eagle summit AWD auto with a bad trans for free thinking there might be something salvageable for my dsm. I was taking a look at it and what had happened was the guy hit a rock, either ran it dry or saw the leak when he parked. And then had the hole welded and filled with fluid.

My take on this was that he ran the valve body ran dry and the transmission failed to shift. And now there is something wrong. Or he burned the clutch. Anybody have any thoughts on why putting more fluid in it after the hole would cause it to quit working properly?

Try it out..What have you got to loose ? I would'nt buy it until I knew for sure it would shift...i had a line come off my cooler and I lost all my fluid..It burnt what LiL fluid I had left..I flushed it out, changed the filter, put Amsoil back in, ran 11s last friday..:hellyeah:
