anyone used a parts store tcm?

I cant seem to find a tcm used and the ones i do find are way to much for no warentty,salvage parts.Autozone will repair mine for 180(r&r)>Advance wants 195 with a $60 core and orileys im not sure yet.I have a real bad one and i thought about just getting the advance one because my core is fuc_ed up bad.
Any advise on which way to go?Anyone have a 3 plug for sale?1g awd

Caps leaked and now their is a big burn/smoke mark around it-i have one that doesnt work,the caps have never leaked on it.I cant find anyone to work on it.Nobody fixed tcu's?

Have you tried asking "Steve"? -I know he works magic on ECUs... Dunno about TCUs though but it's worth a try. -Look him up here on Toooners

It took me so long to find my fwd turbo tcu i want to keep my awd turbo tcu as a backup.Unless the offer is good enough.Works great.

steve repairs TCU's i had him do one for me over the summer. There is not a lot you can do though there is only one capacitor.

ok,i took the complety blown tcu 0092 (awd turbo 3 plug)to autozone and they send it off to get fixed.It had to be that number,i have a 3 plud turbo fwd(0093)and they cant fix that one.So if they couldnt fix it they would replace it,thats what they done,it was 190 and comes with a warrenty.
I opened it up and the replacement one has a new cap(smaller)ANd has that coating stuff all over it,works like a charm
advance was 195 and had a core charge($40),so you could send in pretty much any core,autozone didnt offer that,even though cardone was the supplier for both.
