I just got my car tuned yesterday and was very happy with the results so far. It will be going to the track shortly. It is a AMS built 97 Talon with a 2.3 Motor, 42R Turbo Kit, IPT Trans, Shift Box and Torque converter.

You have one hell of a badass car man, Ive seen it around AMS a couple times recently. I especially like the pulls on Oakton :D


Looked like you also run meth? any numbers with pump + meth? if in fact you do have it.


I can't wait now, my tune date at AMS is May 14th:rocks:

The car doesnt have meth, it has a nitrous kit on it but I dont know if im going to be using it, I was planning on using it for the launch but the thing moves well outa the hole as is. And as of right now it is running on 42 lbs.
 
Pic of the dyno graph? What rpm was it making peak power at? Which gt42r is that, the 4294 or 4202? what a/r?
 
Very cool! I know people are pummeling (will be) with questions, but I am going to ask one anyway!! LOL

I know your on the stroker, but how high were you revving and where was your peak hp and tq? Thanks, and congrats!
 
Scott's car really is SICK!

I have not been on here for a while but for those that remember me I had the white 1G automatic. Ran a 10.30 with a 35R on the Automatic then slapped on a 42R. This is actually the same turbo kit that was in my car and the very same shortblock. I grew tired of tracing down Fuel and ignition issues and passed the ropes to Scott. He went ahead and took the time to build a REALLY nice fuel and ignition system for his 2G and dropped in my old Engine and tubro kit. The results speak for themselves. I actually had this kit for sale for a while but nobody bit, scott did and WOW is it working!

I have an Evo now but the Auto DSM's are always going to hold a special place in my heart.

I am hoping that Scott's car can do what mine couldnt last year, Put together a record breaking pass. I will be his biggest (and ugliest) cheerleader :)

Wow, one of my fav DSMs. Did you guys make a jig for that kit Eric? It would look nice undere the hood. Also, what stall do you have in it. Congrats on the awesome set up and gl when you hit the track.
 
Dude your car is sick, really gives us A/T guys some insperation (i know my car will never be like that but still) and it also gives us a video to show the guys that think A/T's are chick cars hahaha.
 
Man I really thought AMS was a waste of time, with it's 250$ or w/e they charge an hour to dynotune.... but now i'm starting to reconsider.

Heres my list of questions:

What cams:
What is the fuel setup:
What kind of stall:
Why did you need something other than a stock dsm ignition?

Those are what I am interested in :)
 
I am using about a 4200 rpm stuff and the IPT Billet multi disk lockup converter, the thing is super strong as it handled over 750hp without slipping.
My car has Jun 272 cams, a AMS Surge tank setup feeding a Weldon fuel pump and the stock ignition on dsm's has been know to break up at about 40 lbs of boost so just to be safe I threw on a buschur c.o.p. setup and so far so good.
