What exactly is the difference between the 95-96 and 97-99 AWD trannys? I recently got a new tranny from a used parts place and it turned out to be a dud, so i found a guy selling a tranny from a 95. I just wanna know if it will work.

Yea thats one thing i found out on my search, the final drive ratio in the T case is different so i would have to use one from the 95, but i just wasnt sure if anything else would be different like the TCU or ECU as IPT told me (I dont understand how the ECU would be different but i could realize the TCU). Someone mentioned the flex plate was different but i dont see how. Isn't the flexplate the same on all 2g cars? Anymore info from anyone else would be appretiated. Im running out of time! LOL. I gotta decide if i wanna pick this one up or not. Thanks in advance. Jeff

Since the torque converter is the same for all 2g's I would guess that the flexplate is also the same for all 2g's but I may be wrong, I too am searching for this answer. I am planning on calling IPT tomm.
