winnipeg,
After swapping the used automatic tranny, we tried starting but it wont start or turn the engine crank at all. All I heared was just a clicking noise of the starter followed by a fast spinning noise that seems to be not engaging fully in the flywheel gears. We already rebuilt the starter and it was tested already. Could it be that the new tranny I swaped doesn't match the old starter gear gap? Any clue guys what might be the problem? :(

If the transmission that you put in isn't an exact match, you could have these types of problems.

In short, the starter ring gear on the torque converter is in a different place based on the year/configuration of the trans.
