Alright I have a 95 A/T, fully built by Dean Mason, TC, Shift kit, everything. I noticed lately after I drive the car for longer then like 30 minutes, the car takes off from a stop in 2nd. Well, or what feels like 2nd I guess. Normally taking off from a stop, 1st, then it clunks into 2nd like normal. Well when it starts acting up, it takes off in what really feels like 2nd, but then it shifts where 2nd should be, but when it does the car pushes hard instead of clunking into gear. But it has to be 2nd; from a stop I put the car in L and took off, and there was no first. Just wound out through second. Like I said, this only happens when I drive it for a long time. Sorry this thread is confusing and kinda sucks. Any ideas at all though?

Your trans is in limp mode and taking off in second is murder on it. Very easily drive it and park it until you can trouble shoot it. Could be a simple sensor that needs to be changed etc... Don't drive it with the car taking off in second thats so hard on the trans.

its not in limp mode, it does everything its suppose to. it shifts perfect, and only untill it gets really hot it seems, or i drive it for a long time it does this. and im not even sure its 2nd, it feels like 2nd, but then it shifts in 2nd. i dont understand what its doing really.

I would suggest installing a tranny fluid temp gauge, if you haven't already, and see if it starts acting up at a certain temp like you suspect. This wont fix it but it might help diagnosing.
