I just got my car outta the shop. They installed a 91 awd tranny in my 93(wich had a fwd turbo tranny in it)car along with the 91 torque converter flex plate and xcase so they said the old starter didn't fit. so they got me one and I looked on the tag on the starter and its one from a 420A I mean it bolts on but it made a horrible noise when it starts like its grinding the torque converter So I thought the starter was bad because all it will do is grind everytime I try to start it. so i got another one and it does the same exact thing I wanted to know if the starter could have broken the teeth on the torque converter.

and If it isn't completly broke what could I do to fix it

Ok I figured out I just need a different starter which starter would work in a 91 awd auto talon
