Well i finally got around replacing the beat up to hell stock auto tranny cooler. I replaced it with Hayden's Rapidcool 9.5X10 tranny cooler. It's a very tight fir but it's in there. since i was down there I decided to hook up a temp gauge to it to make sure i won't kill it by overheating it. The gauge I used is Summit Racing digital electrical gauge for $42 (best deal out there currently IMO)

So i have been monitoring my temperatue and it hovers between 150-180 depending on outside temp, speed etc.

I tried to look up the optimum auto tranny operating temp in my service manual, but it didn't say anything about it. So does anybody know what it is for a/t DSM's?

I believe the manual says that normal operating temperature for the AT runs between 160-180F.
